Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow have reunited on record, the first time the pair have collaborated for 15 years. The former bandmates have written and recorded a track called Shame for Williams's forthcoming greatest hits collection.
The track was announced shortly after Williams, 36, and Barlow, 39, joined forces for a charity football match in aid of Unicef. The pair notoriously fell out when Williams left Take That in 1995 at the height of the band's fame, but have since reconciled.
Williams went on to enjoy huge success as a solo artist after parting ways with Take That, enjoying seven No 1 albums over a decade. However, he appeared to tire of the limelight and disappeared from public view following the release of 2006's Rudebox. That same year, Take That enjoyed a successful reunion and have since released two chart-topping albums as a quartet. Rumours that Williams would be rejoining his former band have surfaced numerous times since Take That reformed.
Details of the new track are limited, but Williams's greatest hits album will be out on 11 October. "It's incredible to listen to the album and realise that it's already been 20 years of making music and playing gigs," said Williams. "It's not only a celebration of my past but also a bridge to the future. The fact that part of the future includes a name from my past makes it all the more poignant for me."
