Solutions

1:B - Mbappé's historic hat-trick in the final took him to eight goals, one clear of Messi. Giroud and Álvarez scored four goals each., 2:A - It was Modric, Golden Ball winner in 2018, after he helped Croatia to third place., 3:D - The full first line: 'Today I feel Qatari. Today I feel Arabic. Today I feel African. Today I feel gay. Today I feel disabled. Today I feel [like] a migrant worker.', 4:B - Bellingham, Saka and Sterling struck in the first half, with Saka adding another to make it 4-0. Marcus Rashford and Jack Grealish added the other goals., 5:D - These are the only four players to be sent off at the tournament – but the Wales keeper got the only straight red card for a wild foul on Iran's Medhi Taremi. Aboubakar got a second booking for his celebration after scoring a winner against Brazil., 6:C - The South Korea manager and Croatia assistant were the only coaches to be dismissed during the tournament, 7:C - After losing 2-0 to Brazil, Serbia drew 3-3 with Cameroon and lost 3-2 to Switzerland., 8:C - Mitoma pulled the ball back for Tanaka to tap home – launching the biggest goalline drama since 1966., 9:B - A tough-looking last-16 match became a stroll for England after Henderson had opened the scoring after 38 minutes., 10:A - Uruguay fans protested furiously with the referee, Daniel Siebert, but Cavani took out his frustration on VAR, shoving the monitor to the ground., 11:C - The 20-year-old Benfica striker seized his moment, scoring a historic hat-trick to justify his selection., 12:C - The France defender struck early in their semi-final; prior to that, the only goal Morocco conceded was an own goal, scored by Nayef Aguerd against Canada. Spain could not beat Bono once in their last-16 penalty shootout., 13:C - The Spanish referee booked six Dutch players once each, and Denzel Dumfries twice. He also cautioned eight Argentina players, manager Lionel Scaloni and assistant Walter Samuel., 14:C - And what a hit it was. Kane levelled after the break, but Giroud put France back in front before the England forward's missed penalty., 15:C - Richarlison's scissor kick against Serbia took the prize. England won the Fair Play Award, while Argentina fans were honoured at Fifa's annual awards in February., 16:C - A sort of sentient Arabic headdress, La'eeb looked more like a ghost – which felt eerily fitting in the circumstances.
