Tate's new donated works – in pictures

Works by David Hockney, Jacob Epstein, Lucian Freud, RB Kitaj and Rachel Whiteread are among nine paintings and sculptures being gifted by philanthropists Mercedes and Ian Stoutzker, who wanted to fill gaps in the gallery's collection – and have made their donation public to encourage others to donate. The artworks will go on display together in October and then gradually arrive in the Tate collection
