Away from his not inconsiderable career as a TV presenter, Simon Amstell has been honing his skills as a stand-up over the past few years and now he feels suitably prepared to record an hour-long set for a DVD. I'm sure that he would be the first to admit that he is more of a wit than a stand-up comic, something that's encapsulated in his role as the wryest TV presenter on the box in Never Mind The Buzzcocks. That is not to say he is a bad comedian, just that he relies more on his charisma than his material. But being so comically astute, he doesn't let this get in the way of what is a show well worth seeing.
