Hear Beyoncé's surprise new single, Formation

Ahead of her appearance at the Super Bowl halftime show, Beyoncé dropped a new single without warning

Beyoncé has performed the trick known as “doing a Beyoncé”, releasing a surprise new single ahead of her appearance in Sunday night’s Super Bowl halftime show.

Just as she did with her 2013 album Beyoncé, the singer released the single Formation with no warning. Unsurprisingly, it came out through Tidal, the streaming service set up by her husband, Jay Z. She did, however, make a video to go with it, so those without Tidal accounts can hear the song.

Formation is Beyoncé’s first new music since the tracks that appeared on the deluxe edition of Beyoncé in 2014. Have a listen and let us know what you think.
