Next week marks the 20th anniversary of the release of Nirvana's In Utero, with the obligatory deluxe and expanded edition being issued to commemorate the event. But ahead of that release, we've got a UK exclusive from it – this never-before-seen version of Scentless Apprentice. This was the song inspired by Patrick Suskind's novel Perfume: The Story of a Murderer, about a man who tries to create a perfume from the scent of murdered virgins. This clip shows Nirvana – the core trio augmented by the Germs' Pat Smear on guitar – at their fearsome best, awesomely powerful and tight. Enjoy.

The super-deluxe edition of In Utero is released on 23 September.
