Tim Burgess has been many things: the beautiful boy of baggy; a progenitor of Britpop; a falsetto soul man; breakfast cereal creator. For his first solo album in nine years, he went to Nashville to write and record with Lambchop and their main man, Kurt Wagner. Wagner supplied the lyrics, Burgess supplied the voice. Et voila!

The idea was first hatched a decade ago, when Burgess helped Lambchop load their gear after a Manchester show. He suggested to Wagner they work together, Wagner agreed and then it took a mere 10 years to come together. The resulting music is, Burgess has said, "country and north-western".

Let us know what you think – and listen to Burgess talking about his new album on this week's Music Weekly podcast. You can also catch him discussing the album track by track on Twitter from his Piccadilly Records instore on Friday 28 Sept starting from 4pm. Details here.
