London 2012 Olympics: can you do better than the official playlist?

Are these 86 tracks really the best of British? Let us know by compiling your own playlist for the opening ceremony

A list of 86 songs representing the best of British music – understood to be the soundtrack to the Olympics opening ceremony – has leaked.

The Sun reports that the list has not been verified by Olympics sources, but it is believed to have been put together by Danny Boyle and Underworld's Karl Hyde and Rick Smith, the ceremony's director and musical directors.

We've put the songs together as a Spotify playlist below (minus tracks not available on Spotify), or you can view the whole thing as text here – but do you think you can do better?

• Is this a good representation of the best of British? Post your own playlist below – please keep it to no more than 12 tracks – and for the one we like best, we'll send the creator a random selection of CDs, gathered from the Guardian music desk.
