New music: Wild Cub – Thunder Clatter

A disarmingly sweet tropical pop song featuring a video fuelled by red wine

Aware of the pitfalls of high concepts and big budgets, for their new video Nashville duo Wild Cub, AKA film composer Keegan DeWitt and
multi-instrumentalist Jeremy Bullock, decided to just invite some friends over to theirs, drink lots of wine and then film it. The result looks like something that was fun to make as opposed to a chore, especially for the tambourine players who get to dance about a bit. Luckily Thunder Clatter – the first single to be taken from the band's debut album, Youth, which is out in January – lends itself to an afternoon of drinking with friends, all tropical rhythms and jangly guitars, but there's something undeniably captivating about it, especially once they start chanting: "I hear it call in the centre of it all, you're the love of my life." Disarmingly sweet.
