It's been nearly four years since Swedish singer Jens Lekman released his last album, the excellent Night Falls Over Kortedala. Full of literate, perfectly sketched tales focusing on the minutiae of everyday life, it's an album bursting with a strange mix of unabashed joy and crippling shyness. Since then there have been tours, appearances on compilation albums and one new song, The End of the World Is Bigger Than Love, but a new album hasn't been forthcoming. This September, however, sees the release of a new EP, An Argument With Myself, and the Graceland-esque title track is now available as a free download. It's a musical departure for Lekman, with the usual ostentatious string arrangements replaced by a distinctly tropical feel. The sunshine suits him.
