Professor Green postpones UK tour following 'turbulent' year

Rapper says: 'I got hit by a car, got married and then had my life turned upside down by an entirely unfounded arrest'

Professor Green has postponed his UK tour for the second time in six months, blaming his "wonderfully colourful day-to-day life" for disrupting work on his new album. Growing Up in Public, the rapper's third LP, is now reportedly due in August.

"The last 18 months have been mental, turbulent, up and down, round and round, amazing, horrible, happy, sad, frustrating, testing, trying and above all incredibly f*****g stressful," Green wrote on his website. "I got hit by a car, got married and then had my life turned upside down by an entirely unfounded arrest for something [for which] I was subsequently not charged."

The followup to his 2011 recording At Your Inconvenience was originally intended for release last October. Green had scheduled a UK tour for November and December 2013, but those gigs were first pushed back to May and have now been postponed to November and December.

Green even says a chaotic year made the forthcoming album better. "I’m not sorry it’s late. I’d be sorry if it was [a] shit [album], there’s no coming back from that," he wrote. "Albums are done when they’re done, there is in fact no such thing as a late album."

Green has posted a teaser for I'm Not Your Man, Growing Up in Public's first single. On Twitter, he said that, in coming months, "I'm going to bombard you with music."

Both of Green's preceding albums reached the UK chart's top five.
