Wilko Johnson announces farewell tour

Former Dr Feelgood guitarist follows announcement he has terminal cancer with set of UK dates kicking off in London

Wilko Johnson, who last week announced he had been diagnosed with terminal cancer of the pancreas, will perform four farewell concerts in the UK in March.

The former Dr Feelgood guitarist, who has been playing in Japan, will headline London's Koko to open the brief tour.

Johnson's manager, Robert Hoy, said: "The four UK dates represent an opportunity for Wilko to express his sincere thanks to his fans for all the support he has had over his long career."

The four dates are:

London Koko – 6 March
Bilston Robin 2 – 7 March
Holmfirth Picturedrome – 8 March
Glasgow O2 ABC – 9 March

Johnson has said he will not be undergoing chemotherapy, in order to be able to keep working as long as he can.

Tickets will go on sale from Monday 21 January. Box office: 0844 478 0898, thegigcartel.com.
