Secret Garden Party 2013 lineup features Soulwax and David Icke

Festival in Cambridgeshire also includes Django Django, Bastille and the government's former drugs advisor David Nutt

Soulwax, Django Django and David Icke have been announced as part of the initial lineup for the Secret Garden Party festival.

The bill for the festival in Cambridgeshire in July also includes Bastille, the Strypes, Big Youth and – a second speaker at the "Secret Forum" – David Nutt, former chairman of the government's Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs.

Held since 2004 in the grounds of a Georgian farmhouse with its own lake, the Secret Garden Party has previously featured Grace Jones, Gorillaz and Jarvis Cocker. Orbital headlined last year.

The festival is especially known for its imaginative staging, and organisers promise a newly landscaped amphitheatre among other improvements to the site this year.

The Belgian brothers David and Stephen Dewale who constitute Soulwax will headline, with support from the Mercury prize shortlisted Django Django.

Speakers providing intellectual stimulus include Icke, the former BBC sports presenter turned author of The David Icke Guide to the Global Conspiracy (and How To End It); astrologist Jonathan Cainer; and David Nutt.

In 2009, Professor Nutt was sacked from his government position by former home secretary Alan Johnson after claiming in a paper alcohol and tobacco are more harmful than many illegal drugs. He has since written that "the mainstream penalty-driven approach to drugs control is both morally and intellectually flawed".

The Secret Garden Partytakes place between 25 and 28 July.
