New Year's Eve playlist: what to listen to at midnight

From J-Lo to Joy Division, the results are in. Here's a Spotify playlist of Guardian readers' NYE midnight music

New Year's Eve is upon us, and as the finger food and fizz patiently waits alongside stacks of turkey-filled lunchboxes in fridges across the globe, it's time to plan what song you're going to play to welcome in 2014. We asked you for your recommendations for what to spin when the clock strikes midnight and popped some of the results on our New Year's Eve Party Music Spotify Playlist 2013.

The overall list provided a combination of highs and lows, J-Los and Joy Divisions, ranging from triumphant anthems (John Grant's GMF, AC/DC's Highway to Hell), classic party pleasers (Musical Youth's Pass the Dutchie), left-field party poopers (Reach for the Dead by Boards of Canada) and the most essential sound of all: the BBC Bongs, sadly not on Spotify, but forever in our hearts.
