Trent Reznor to get his teeth into acting debut, say reports

Nine Inch Nails frontman could follow Oscar-winning soundtrack success with cameo role in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

With an Oscar for The Social Network under his belt, Trent Reznor is reportedly planning to complete his leap from music to movies by acting in a forthcoming horror film. The Nine Inch Nails leader will allegedly play one of the titular bloodsuckers in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.

It was only a matter of time before Reznor, parlayed his soundtrack success into acting. After enlisting Reznor and Atticus Ross to score to The Social Network, director David Fincher tapped the duo to work on his forthcoming Girl With the Dragon Tattoo adaptation. Now, according to Badass Digest, Reznor has been asked not just to score Timur Bekmambetov's tale of vampires v presidents, but to appear in a cameo role.

The film is based on a novel by Seth Grahame-Smith, imagining Lincoln as a take-no-prisoners Van Helsing. And Reznor is apparently the vampire who sets the Great Emancipator on his stake-wielding crusade, by killing the future president's mother.

Bekmambetov previously directed Russian blockbusters Night Watch and Day Watch, and the 2008 Angelina Jolie vehicle, Wanted. For Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter he has recruited Benjamin Jackson, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and English actor Dominic Cooper. The film will be produced by Tim Burton.
