Should I use Spotify for streaming or sign up to another service?

My brother’s a keen fan of their ad-free service – but what Amazon, Apple and Deezer?

Every week a Guardian Money reader submits a question, and it’s up to you to help him or her out – a selection of the best answers will appear in next Saturday’s paper.

This week’s question:

I’m 47 and a music fan, but have resisted Spotify until now and have supported local record stores. My brother’s a keen fan of their £10 a month ad-free service. But as I looked into it, I found similar services from Amazon, Apple and Deezer. I’m totally confused! Should I go with Spotify or one of the others?
