Ben Clissitt is staying with Telegraph Media Group and Grazia’s Jane Bruton is taking a senior editorial role in the publisher’s latest management reshuffle.
Bruton, Grazia’s editor-in-chief, is to join the publisher of the Daily Telegraph and Sunday Telegraph as director of lifestyle and deputy editor.
Clissitt, who was due to leave to head Bloomberg Media’s digital operations across Europe, Middle East and Africa, is staying with Telegraph Media Group (TMG) as executive editor. He had previously held the role of director of visual journalism at TMG.
His change of heart and the appointment of Bruton - who will oversee magazines, features, fashion, luxury and beauty - completes the new-look senior team put together by Chris Evans, who took control of editorial operations in October.
Evans also confirmed that Mike Adamson, former digital sports editor at the Telegraph, has been promoted to editor of Telegraph.co.uk.
Bruton, who will report directly to Evans, has been editor-in-chief of Grazia magazine since 2005.
“It is a huge wrench to leave Grazia after an amazing ten years, but the Telegraph offers an exciting opportunity that cannot be missed,” she said. “I am looking forward to working with Chris Evans and the team to develop his powerful vision.”
In December Evans hired Trinity Mirror’s highly rated digital head Malcolm Coles, responsible for creating its BuzzFeed-style site UsVsTh3m, to take the role of director of digital media.
“I am delighted my senior team is now in place,” said Evans, editor and director of content. “Jane brings to the Telegraph a wealth of experience and she will be a great asset to our executive editorial team.”
Evans effectively took control of all editorial operations at TMG in October when Jason Seiken, the editor-in-chief and chief content officer, moved to take on non-editorial business development duties.
