A British-made reality show in which American porn stars vie to make it as serious actors on the West End stage has been sold to a US cable channel.
Independent production company Zig Zag is talking to potential British buyers for My Bare Lady, which will be shown on the Fox Reality channel in the autumn.
My Bare Lady, which begins shooting in June, will follow four female porn stars as they study at a London drama school and aim to land a role in a West End theatre production.
The racy show is a far cry from the BBC's How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?, a reality show presented by Graham Norton that will attempt to find an actress to star in The Sound of Music.
Under Zig Zag's deal with Fox, it will retain international rights over the programme, while Fox will get to exploit rights in the US.
It is believed to be the first time a foreign broadcaster has teamed up with a British producer on a reality show project in this way.
The Zig Zag managing director, Danny Fenton, said My Bare Lady would be an "extreme fish out of water" exercise.
He took the idea to the Mip festival in Cannes earlier this year and is hoping he can license the format to producers in other European countries.
He said he was talking to a number of UK broadcasters, both terrestrial and satellite, about selling them the show.
