Punk rocker quits jungle for chocolate

In a move hardly befitting his image as the bad boy of punk, former Sex Pistol John Lydon yesterday stormed off the jungle set of I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here! complaining about the lack of chocolate.

In a move hardly befitting his image as the bad boy of punk, former Sex Pistol John Lydon yesterday stormed off the jungle set of I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here! complaining about the lack of chocolate.

The departure of the favourite to win the show, who sparked complaints from viewers this week after calling the audience "fucking cunts" for not voting him off, came at around 2.30am UK time. He said he was "bored", was going "lentil mental" and "wanted some chocolate".

A show insider said: "We asked him if he was sure and he said yes ... we respect that decision. It was all in good humour and he waited for Lord Brocket to return from the Bushtucker trial before saying goodbye. Kerry [McFadden] and Lord Brocket were the saddest to see him go but these things happen. It is very tough in there. They don't have much food and there are spiders the size of your hand."

Lydon's behaviour had grown increasingly eccentric over the past 48 hours, prompting McFadden to ask: "Is he on medication? It is not right. Seriously, you have gone nuts."

McFadden and convicted fraudster and Lord Brocket as joint favourites.
