# The Guardian

The Guardian has been voted Europe's best designed national newspaper. More than 200 newspapers from 21 countries were entered in the second annual European Newspaper Award, organised by the journalism magazines Medium Magazin (Germany), De Journalist (Netherlands) and Österreichischer Journalist (Austria). The judges said: "The Guardian impresses with the detail, variety and consistency of its design. The use of photographs with regard to size, cropping and contrast is exemplary. The integration of text, photographs and graphics is ideal."
