Graham Coxon, Love Travels at Illegal Speeds

Ex-Blur guitarist hits solo high at sixth time of asking

Behind the thick-rimmed specs and adolescent-like shyness stands the best British guitarist of his generation.

Now on his sixth solo album, Graham Coxon finally shows he has the focus to match his talent. Love Travels...swaps the early, scratchy lo-fi squiggles for taut punk hooks and an effervescent pop shimmer that vaguely echoes Blur at their best.

Full of Coxon's trademark sarky lyricism, this 14-track concept album celebrates and laments the bittersweet nature of love, avoiding being dull or mawkish by being so gorgeous and satisfyingly coherent.
