PSG’s Mbappé scores after eight seconds at Lille while Mané leads Bayern rout

  • Mbappé ends with hat-trick in 7-1 win | Balogun saves Reims
  • Mané scores two in 7-0 trouncing | Atalanta draw with Milan

Kylian Mbappé scored the fastest Ligue 1 goal for 30 years to set Paris Saint-Germain on their way to a runaway 7-1 victory at Lille as they kept up their 100% start to the new Ligue 1 season.

Mbappé took only eight seconds to lob the ball into the Lille net after being teed up by Lionel Messi, equalling the record set in 1992 by Michel Rio for Caen against Cannes. The France World Cup star completed a hat-trick while there were two for Neymar, one for Messi and another for flying full-back Achraf Hakimi in a devastating display of their prowess and dominance in the French league.

PSG have scored 17 goals in winning their first three games of the season and are two points above Racing Lens and Marseille, both winners on Saturday.

The on-loan Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun scored his third goal in three games since joining Reims for the season to give the Ligue 1 strugglers their first point of the season. The 21-year-old had a goal disallowed for offside in the first half before converting in the 81st minute to give his side a well-deserved point at Strasbourg.

Bayern Munich demolished Bochum 7-0 on Sunday, with new signing Sadio Mané scoring twice, to maintain their perfect start to the season.

The reigning Bundesliga champions, who are two points clear at the top with nine points from three league games, went on a first-half rampage, scoring four times in a 38-minute span to kill off the game.

They took a fourth-minute lead through Leroy Sané with their first attack of the game, and Matthijs de Ligt got on the scoresheet with his first ever effort on goal for Bayern, heading in a corner at the far post in the 25th.

Kingsley Coman’s shot from close range after Bochum failed to clear just past the half-hour mark made it 3-0 and all but put the game beyond doubt, before Mané completed the first-half frenzy with his second goal of the season – a low shot from a tight angle in the 42nd.

Bayern, who have now scored 15 goals in their three league games since the departure of Robert Lewandowski for Barcelona, eased off the gas. But the Senegal international added another with a penalty on the hour.

Cristian Gamboa, under pressure from Sané, scored an own goal, piling further misery on the hosts who then saw tge substitute Serge Gnabry make it look so easy when he thundered in a low shot off the post to make it 7-0.

Title rivals Borussia Dortmund conceded three goals in the last few minutes against Werder Bremen on Saturday as they suffered a shock 3-2 loss that left them on six points.

Eintracht Frankfurt’s long wait for a league win continued earlier when Jan Thielmann scored late for Cologne to draw 1-1. Daichi Kamada looked like ending Frankfurt’s 10-game run without a win when he scored in the 71st, but Thielmann equalized in the 82nd for the visitors.

Milan were held to a 1-1 Serie A draw at Atalanta as Ismaël Bennacer cancelled out a first-half goal by Ruslan Malinovskyi in Bergamo. After an even start to the match, Malinovskyi broke the deadlock in the 29th minute with a powerful left-foot finish from the edge of the box. Bennacer equalised for the champions from a corner by Alexis Saelemaekers in the 68th minute, shooting through the Atalanta defenders and into the net off the post.

The Georgia winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia scored twice in his second Serie A game to lead Napoli to a 4-0 win over promoted Monza. The 21-year-old, who also scored on his league debut in Napoli’s 5-2 win at Hellas Verona, took his tally to three goals in two games since joining from Dinamo Batumi. Kvaratskhelia had been playing for Russian team Rubin Kazan up to March, but joined Batumi following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Victor Osimhenand Kim Min-jae got the other goals.

Fiorentina drew at Empoli 0-0 in their Tuscan derby. Empoli defender Sebastiano Luperto was sent off in the 66th for a tactical foul on Luka Jovic. Empoli finished the game with nine players because of an injury to Nicolo Cambiaghi.
