Filipe Luís sold back to Atlético Madrid by Chelsea

• Fee in region of £16m for full-back bought for £20m last year
• Augsburg wing-back Abdul Baba Rahman a possible replacement

Filipe Luís has been sold back to Atlético Madrid after the clubs agreed terms over a permanent transfer.

The 29-year-old full-back signed for the Premier League champions for around £20m a year ago and played 26 times for Chelsea.

The Spaniards are believed to be paying in the region of £16m and the Blues are now likely to pursue a replacement in the Augsburg wing-back Abdul Baba Rahman, who is valued at around £17m.

Chelsea said of Filipe Luís: “We wish him all the best for the future.”
