The Guardian won the Newspaper of the Year, Writer of the Year and Podcast/Radio Show of the Year awards at the Football Supporters’ Federation’s presentation on Monday.
The paper’s citation for the newspaper award read: “With a real ear for fan issues, it’s no surprise to see the Guardian shortlisted. Let’s not forget its commitment to top-class coverage of European football either, with great copy from the likes of Raphael Honigstein and Sid Lowe.”
Amy Lawrence, who writes for both the Guardian and the Observer, won the writer of the year award with the FSF stating: “Another first-time nominee for this award. While now firmly established as a go-to for information and analysis on her favoured Arsenal, Amy’s profile continues to grow across the media, with regular appearances on TV, radio and podcast formats.”
The Guardian’s Football Weekly was voted winner of the Podcast/Radio Show of the Year award.
