Everton, coming from pot three at the draw in Monaco, have a tough draw in the Europa League Group H, where they play a Lille side spearheaded by the on-loan Liverpool striker Divock Origi and the Bundesliga side Wolfsburg as well as a tricky journey to Russia’s Krasnodar.
Tottenham will be looking to replicate local rivals Arsenal’s recent success against Besiktas after being paired with the Turkish side in Group C.
Arsenal edged past Besiktas over two legs in the Champions League play-offs, with Slaven Bilic’s side dropping down to become top seeds in the secondary competition. Also on the agenda for Tottenham are trips to Serbia’s Partizan Belgrade and the Greek side Asteras.
Celtic have been handed the relatively easier task of overcoming Red Bull Salzburg, Dinamo Zagreb and FC Astra in Group D. Despite progressing to the Champions League third-round play-off due to an administrative error by their second-round opponents Legia Warsaw, the Scottish champions failed to beat Maribor over two legs and fell into the Europa League. Legia have been drawn in Group L.
