Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 3D | Film review

A Hollywood-animated movie about fast food falling from the sky does not impress Philip French

This charmless, Hollywood-animated movie centres on a geeky inventor who saves his fishing port home by creating a machine that causes the clouds to rain food, mostly of the fast variety. A weather girl comes to report on the phenomenon and she helps the hero when things get earth-threateningly out of hand. The town's streets look like the centre of any British city at 2am on a Sunday morning, which is not a pretty sight. Hungry Horace, if he's still around, may enjoy it.
