With over 1,000 entries, Encounters is easily the UK's largest international short film festival, and the calibre of entries is undeniably superior. Of the 300 short films screened, don't miss the hilarious BBC Comedy Short entry Where Have I Been All Your Life, with Gavin and Stacey's James Corden trying to find his long-lost dad (who's married to a disgruntled Imelda Staunton); Come Here Today, a rather more emotional father-son film starring Rhys Ifans; or the brilliant animations of the DepicT! 90-second film challenge. In addition, hear Paddy Considine talk about life as both an actor and a director, and veteran triple Oscar-winning animator Richard Williams leading an insightful animation masterclass, or simply spot new film-making and animation talent among the treats (such as Peter Bunzl's On The Upsie).
