London ought to learn from the provinces | Brief letters

Metropolitan indifference | EU appreciation | A long time in politics

Martin Kettle says how relevant Das Rheingold is to the current political turmoil (Das Rheingold review, 30 June). Perhaps the fact that the Ring cycle has been running in the provinces since April and has had to wait until now for a review also shows how out of touch London is with the rest of the country.
