Keane team up with K'Naan for a rock-rap crossover | Arts diary

Following on from Jay-Z's love-in with Coldplay, Keane are working with the rapper they call "Eminem with a heart", writes Laura Barnett

The love-in between rock stars and rappers is growing ever more devoted. Jay-Z is touring as support act for new best friends Coldplay, and we've seen collaborations between hip-hop's Timbaland and RZA with rock's Chris Cornell and Shavo Odadjian. Next up are Keane, who have just put the finishing touches to two new songs with Somali/Canadian rapper K'Naan (described by Keane frontman Tom Chaplin as "Eminem with a heart"). The tracks are expected to appear on a mini-album next year, alongside new material recorded with Kanye West.
