Which books do you most like to read to your children? | Open thread

Parents and guardians apparently want to pass on Charles Dickens and Harry Potter to their children. Tell us your favourites

When the University of Worcester asked parents what books they most wanted to pass on to their children, one in five replied with Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, followed by the Harry Potter series, The Lord of the Rings, Pride and Prejudice and Alice in Wonderland.
