Skulduggery Pleasant by Derek Landy - review

Dark, tense and thrilling - near the end your hand starts gripping the book!

Meet Skulduggery Pleasant. He is a detective, magician and a warrior.

Oh yes, he's also dead.

When Stephanie's rich and famous Uncle Gordon dies, Stephanie has to go to the reading of the will. A few minutes into the reading, she finds herself being drawn to the mysterious, evasive and alluring Skulduggery Pleasant.

Skulduggery shows her a new world, a world of wonder, mystery and danger. The world as she knows it changes and she changes with it.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I'd give this a ten out of ten because near the end your hands start gripping the book. The author has made the book dark, tense and thrilling. What more do you want?

This book is the first in the Skulduggery Pleasant series in which there are eight books. My favourite is Mortal Coil which is the fifth one.

I would thoroughly recommend these books for readers who like mystery and dry humour.
