'Crazy Diamond' artwork to go on show

Unseen paintings by Pink Floyd's founding frontman, Syd Barrett, are to go on display in Cambridge

Unseen paintings by the original 'Crazy Diamond', Pink Floyd's founding frontman, Syd Barrett, are to go on display in Cambridge, his hometown.

Tickets for the small autumn show, which will include unknown photographs from Barrett's youth, have almost sold out, only a few days after being put on sale. 'We have sold over a thousand,' said a spokesman for the Escape Artists and The Syd Barrett Trust, who are jointly putting on the exhibition for charity.

The mysterious story of Barrett, who died from cancer two years ago this month aged 60, has grown since he dropped out from public life three decades ago.
