KENNY WERNER and GREGOIRE MARET-TRIBUTE TO TOOTS THIELEMANS

Kenny Werner-piano and Gregoire Maret-harmonicaScullers Jazz Club had the honor of having Toots Thielemans perform here several times. Those were magical nights and Gregoire and Kenny will honor Toots and the music he composed and played.Toots Thielemans took a special interest in Maret because he had his own sound and style, and while influenced by Thielemans, never sought to copy him. Accordingly, this tribute will feature songs Thielemans loved to play, including his standard Bluesette, but interpreted in new ways. As Maret puts it, the duo will try to find new places where his spirit is truly honored but his music is being played through a new prism. Kenny Werner is one of the most highly respected pianists on the scene today and together, he and Maret will honor the legacy of one of jazzs great Artists.All GA sections (Main Floor GA & Miles Davis Mezzanine) will be seated by host and are first come, first served (other than where a reserved sign is posted to table). Mix, Mingle and Groove reception is from 5:15pm until 6:30pm on show nights only, in the Boathouse 400 restaurant, on the 2nd floor of the hotel. All purchases are non-refundable.
