Could Piers Morgan be about to return to Britain's Got Talent to replace David Walliams? A diary piece in the Mail on Sunday suggested that "reports are rife that Simon [Cowell] and David have not been seeing eye-to-eye in the green room" and Morgan has held talks about a return. A source told the paper: "The US version has Howard Stern and he is a huge get for Simon, but here in the UK we need a controversial 'Marmite' character too." Walliams scrambled to pour cold water on the story, tweeting:

Morgan retweeted Walliams, adding simply “No comment". One Twitter user responded by tweeting “@piersmorgan if you are coming back on the panel I will not be watching BGT”, to which Morgan replied “Do you promise?”.

Monkey would be fascinated to see Morgan – who was dropped by CNN in March – return to BGT. But the fact that Mail Online appears to have removed the diary item doesn't suggest it's likely to happen soon.
