Britain's Got Talent pulls in 10 million

Simon Cowell's ITV show adds 800,000 viewers for third instalment, with a 46.1% share of the Saturday night audience

ITV's Britain Got Talent attracted an audience of over 10 million on Saturday, bouncing back from an audience slide in the wake of its record-setting return two weeks ago.

The third show in the 13th series of Simon Cowell's talent show, broadcast between 7pm and 8.15pm, attracted an average audience of 10.1 million.

BGT was the clear winner on Saturday night, attracting 46.1% of the total TV audience in its slot, with a 15-minute peak of 11 million.

ITV executives will be pleased that the show is maintaining momentum, attracting 800,000 more viewers than the 9.3 million that tuned in to watch the second show of the series.

The eighth series of BGT began with a record launch show of 11.1m viewers, benefiting from not being up against BBC1's rival talent show The Voice.

The BBC's replacement for The Voice was the celebrity version of its Pointless quiz, broadcast between 7pm and 7.50pm, which only managed an audience of 3.4 million, a 16% share of the audience.

BBC2 coverage of the world snooker championship, between 7pm and 8pm, mustered just 800,000 viewers, 4% of the audience.

The sixth episode of the 13th series of Channel 4's Grand Designs, broadcast between 7.15pm and 8.15pm, was watched by just 600,000 viewers, 2.8% of the audience.

Channel 5's US crime drama show Longmire, which was on air between 6.40pm and 7.30pm, was watched by 500,000 viewers, 2.7% of the audience.
